On national public lands day, September 25, 2021, participants from both Troop and Pack 440 worked with the Corps of Engineers at Carters Lake.
We enjoyed a premium campsite with no visitors around. The weather was incredible with a high of about 80 and a low of about 50°. It was one of the best campsites and trips I can remember.
We woke up pretty early on Saturday and cleaned the day-use area’s, picking up litter and recycling aluminum cans. We collected three full bags of litter around the picnic tables and boat ramp.
We had the afternoon to ourselves then a little small campfire program together, recognizing each other for how well each performed.
Sunday morning was the perfect day. We got up, packed, and said goodbye to the best weather and campsite ever!
