NOTE: All activities are “free for all” except for game 5. The top three scouts of each activity will receive points. 3rd Place: 1 point, 2nd Place: 2 points, 1st Place 3 points. Whoever has the most points at the end of the event will get the best troop award.
1: Fishing tournament: The top three scouts with the biggest (weight) fish will receive points. The fish that you want to keep, clean, and eat have to be within 12-15 inches; anything below needs to be released. All fish must be taken to the fish tournament staff member nearby to be weighted and recorded. No fishing with minnows.
2: Biking race relay: The Scout will start from one position and bicycle to another point then turn around and come back. The top three fastest times will receive points. Must bring and wear a helmet, knee pads and other protection is optional. Bring your own bikes.
3: Hubcap throwing: Scouts will take turns throwing a hubcap. The top three farthest hubcap throws will receive points. Each person will have an opportunity to do two good throws + a mulligan.
4: Hatchet throwing: Scouts will be lined up around 15 feet away from the target. Each scout will proceed to try to score points with 3 practice throws, 6 actual throws, and 1 mulligan. The scouts with the 3 best scores will get points. The bullseye counts as 5, the inner ring 3, the outer ring and target 1, and the 2 small bullseyes on the top of the target are 10.
5: Fort building: Also known as try not to die night is when one or two members of a troop build one or more shelters which will be graded on a scale of 1 to 5 and if a scout does not sleep in the building that’s 1- point for his/her troop and the troop which the most points win. The shelter must be taken down by 6 p.m. Saturday.
