This award explores the world of fluid dynamics, and how it affects your everyday life. Fluid
dynamics is the study of how fluids (liquids, gases, and plasmas) behave and interact with other
materials.
The Supernova award can be earned by Cub Scouts who are in 2nd through 5th grade (Wolf, Bear, Webelos, and Arrow of Light). With parents’ and unit leader’s help, Cub Scouts select a council-approved Supernova Mentor who is a registered Scouter.

We live in a time of great opportunity. The spirit of innovation can help us overcome challenges and ensure a prosperous and secure future. To seize this opportunity, we must position ourselves at the cutting edge of scientific discovery and technological innovation.
The Boy Scouts of America developed the STEM Nova Awards program to excite and expand a sense of wonder in our Scouts. By working with an adult counselor or mentor, the various modules allow them to explore the basic principles of STEM and discover how fun and fascinating STEM can be. The Supernova awards are offered for those who enjoy a super challenge. Discover how the STEM Nova Awards program helps youth be “Prepared. For Life.”
Cub Scouts is a family activity. If your child is not registered then we can complete an application.
The NOVA program is designed for Scouts in the 2nd-5th grade. Scouts who are Wolf, Bear, Webelo, or AOL Rank will receive a patch or certificate. Patches will be given to first-time Scouts.
Scouts who are Lions, Tigers, and Siblings are welcome to participate and will receive a certificate of participation.
SuperNOVA medals may be purchased separately.
We will provide a meal for everyone. Early registration will help us purchase the right amount of food and awards for the event.
Online registration will close on Friday before the event. You may still pay on Saturday morning but please let us know you are coming.
Please register and pay for all the members of your family who will attend.
